All entries for the 2026 Scottish Open for The Icelandic Horse In Person and Online Event will close Monday 10th August 2026.

The In Person Event will be held at Netherton Equestrian on Saturday 29th - Sunday 30th August 2026.


Visitor Notice – Equine Influenza Safety

To help protect all horses at the Scottish Open for The Icelandic Horse, please follow these simple guidelines:

For biosecurity reasons, please do not touch, feed, or approach any horse unless you have permission from the handler.

If you have recently visited other yards or been around horses, please wash or sanitise your hands before entering the event area.

If you have been in contact with horses that are unwell, or if your yard is under restrictions due to Equine Influenza, please do not attend.

Thank you for helping us keep all horses and riders safe.

  • Although every effort will be made to run to the time table the Scottish Open for The Icelandic Horse cannot guarantee that all advertised times will be exact. 
  • Under 16s must be accompanied at all times by an adult.
  • Activities of all people at the Scottish Open for The Icelandic Horse must be carried out with due consideration for the safety and enjoyment of others. Be sensible, respectful of others, responsible for you and yours, and most of all show support and kindness.
  •  Although competitors may not receive any outside assistance while competing, lots of cheering on is encouraged.
  • The Scottish Open for The Icelandic Horse cannot accept liability for injury, loss or theft experienced by visitors whilst attending the event.
  • All visitors to site must follow all alarms, signs, barriers or directions given by the Scottish Open for The Icelandic Horse organisers and volunteers or by Netherton Equestrian Staff. This is for your safety and the safety of those around you.
  • Do not leave belongings unattended; please look after your personal property. The Scottish Open for The Icelandic Horse accepts no liability for loss of, or damage to personal items. 
  • Visitors accept that they have a duty to take reasonable steps to ensure their own safety at all times while attending the event.
  • Ensure you take all rubbish home with you.
  • Taking pictures and/or video is highly encouraged as well as sharing this on the Scottish Open for The Icelandic Horse's Facebook page.

This year Netherton Equestrian Centre will have their catering facilities open for you to purchase your lunch.

 Sweet treats will also be avaliable.

Tea and coffee is available during the day, please bring your own drinking vessel with you.
